She had no idea who was more stubborn at this point: Shego or her! Where did this hot head get the idea that jabbering away at her like that would be a good idea? Maybe Aphrodite’s… battle strategy… was… unique, but it worked for her! And Shego was just sore that she didn’t face a warrior like Ares or Athena! Here she thought she could help this ice witch without any immortal powers but with the magic of words, but the girl just wouldn’t let her in. It was beyond frustrating, a pretty thing liked that tainted by her sour attitude. Just when she thought she was going to get the answers she craved, Shego dodged the topic once again. She was some sort of impenetrable fortress, no matter what Aphrodite threw at her. Of course, there was one thing she hadn’t thrown and that was true love, but with this sunbathing wretch worth it? This was something that needed to be considered carefully. Aphrodite was extremely cautious with her abilities and her responsibilities. Just because she was annoyed was no reason to start impaling her with arrows.
When Shego’s back was turned, Aphrodite stared at the back of that raven coloured head, still contemplating on what to do. As Shego’s words drifted back to her, Aphrodite vanished only to reappear right behind the woman, except she was now resting on her knees. The goddess leaned forward and whispered in a surprisingly pleasant tone,
“I intend to.”
Aphrodite’s lips lightly brushed the top of Shego’s ear, but before the touchy woman could react, she disappeared.
The goddess emerged further down the beach, easily seen in the distance. She had resumed her business of collecting seashells. A hermit crab crawled out a shell she was examining, the little guy reminding her of Shego. Shego. Yes, Aphrodite had finally figured out who it was that Shego reminded her of and more importantly she was pretty sure she knew what was bothering the frosty woman. Those conclusions were enough to satisfy her for the moment.

Shego wasn’t sure exactly what she was expecting the goddess to do. In fact, she wasn’t even entirely sure how she wanted Aphrodite to react. She supposed that in a perfect world then the immortal would take her bait and finally give her the fight she wanted. Shego had been simply dying to go head to head with a God ever since her encounters with Zeus, however it had turned out deities were harder to track down then Jessica had been upon vanishing. She frowned at this, although the change in expression was too subtle to be noticed. Her brief relationship with Jessica wasn’t the most pleasant memory, and it always annoyed her that whatever happened she couldn’t let her feelings for the redhead go.
Her train of thought, and very nearly her composure, was shattered as Aphrodite’s lips brushed her ear.
Shego froze, for that was the best way to stop herself from reacting, although she wasn’t entirely sure she would be able to move even if she wanted to. The result of the goddess’s hand touching her was nothing to the force she was struck with by being in contact with her lips. She wasn’t moving; she wasn’t even breathing; she could barely think. Thankfully Aphrodite vanished almost immediately, however the instant seemed to last for hours.
She let out a breath, gasping for air as she flopped backwards onto the sand again. Out of the corner of one eye she was vaguely aware of the immortal gathering shells further down the beach, however was more preoccupied with getting her breath back then anything else at this point. Her mind was still spinning around like a top, however by concentrating she managed to slow it down again so she could think properly. The shock of Aphrodite’s touch was replaced with her more customary anger, and she was practically seething as she attempted to settle back and relax again.
“The opposite of love isn’t hate, its disinterest,” she muttered, “which is fine by me.” She closed her eyes again, for all the world the picture of ignoring the goddess despite the anger still brimming below the surface.

Aphrodite’s fingers ran over the rough surface of a shell covered in round bumps, then twisted a rather lengthy spiral shaped seashell that had layers of multiple colours wrapped around it. She selected this over the bumpy one and added it to the necklace she had crafted. A clasp was formed out of the shell that the hermit crab had crawled out of, connecting all the others together. Admiring the gorgeous piece she had created out of the ocean’s unwanted items, Aphrodite sent it away on the breath of a blown kiss, deciding to come back for it later.
Looking back over her shoulder she was not shocked to find Shego stubbornly laying the same spot she had left her in. Was she marking her territory? Waiting for Aphrodite to come back just so she could follow through on the threat to- and Aph almost giggled as she thought about the woman’s threat- kill her. A million uses for all the fire and rage contained within that mortal shell sprang to mind… oh. Make that a million and one, and as the goddess watched with an amused expression at the emotionally armored sunbather, she decided she just couldn’t resist. She was going to have to go back there.
Shego was sleeping? No, she wasn’t sleeping, she just had her eyes closed. It always amused her how even the most villainous looking people appeared so peaceful when they slept. It was almost a shame to disturb her when she finally looked relaxed. Almost relaxed. Aphrodite could still see the wheels turning inside her head and her body still seemed far too tense for a person who set out to enjoy a day on the beach.
“So if you don’t do girl chat, what do you do?” Aphrodite asked casually as if she had never even left. “Aside from the whole fighting and destroying people gig.”

Shego groaned visibly as she heard a voice she vehemently wished wasn’t familiar speaking above her. Was this impetuous woman simply incapable of leaving her alone? It was certainly beginning to appear that way, for Shego had exhausted almost every possible avenue for deterring this determined woman. The last thing she wanted to talk about was love, especially not with the woman who seemed to be the personification of all of Shego’s recent problems.
Not just the personification… the cause.
Love was the reason Shego had been depressed enough to accept Maleficent’s orders. Love was the reason that she’d destroyed Notre Dame in the hope that it would destroy her too. Love was the reason that nothing at all was going right. Love was the result of this woman; so naturally, everything was this woman’s fault. Shego’s uncertainly vanished in that instant as everything seemed to click into place around her, all directing her hatred towards Aphrodite.
“What do I do!?” screeched Shego, springing up in an instant and striking the immortal’s chin with a roundhouse kick. She moved again fast as lightning, aiming up another kick that ploughed into the woman’s chest and drove her back away from her.
“I walk,” she spoke these words surprisingly calmly, the effect of which was oddly eerie considering each was punctuated with another blow, “I talk. I shop. I sleep. I steal whatever I want to.” She straightened up; arms dropping to her side as she stood perfectly still for a moment and simply stared at Aphrodite. The promises she’d made prevented her from harming the innocent; however Shego was now convinced that the woman was the cause of much evil, and therefore just as big a thread as Maleficent.
“The world has changed since you had power,” her eyes narrowed, and in a flash her arms ignited and she had adopted a defensive poise, “and I don’t listen to you any more.” She swung both arms forward and pointed them at Aphrodite as with a rush of power a searing beam that seemed to be half-fire, half-energy erupted from her hands and collided with the Goddess with a small emerald explosion.

Aphrodite’s head snapped back when Shego’s foot made contact with her jaw and ended up staggering backward when she was not quick enough to block the next blow that came her way. It was with a girlish shriek that she managed to cross her arms in front of her face to keep her beautiful features from being smashed in by the pyro’s boot and she vanished as another punch came flying. The hearts from her last materialization were still falling to the ground when Aphrodite was forced yet again to disappear. Each strike Shego threw at her, Aphrodite just managed to barely avoid. Finally she was able to materialize far enough away from the woman, just in time to watch her ignite the flames.
She couldn’t fight. She wasn’t a fighter. She didn’t know how. It was against everything she stood for. But there was a very thin line between the flames in Shego’s hands and Aphrodite’s vanity. That mortal would never leave a scorch mark on her again! The magnificent bow Hephaestus had shaped appeared in her hand, glowing as brightly as the goddess’ aura. Drawing back the string, pink energy formed in the shape of an arrow, more arrows forming the longer she held it. She let her precious love arrows, arrows that were not intended for this purpose, fly. The power in the ball of energy that Shego had constructed with hate weakened as love pierced its way through and when it hit Aphrodite there were no marks left behind.
Aphrodite stood facing this extraordinary mortal with a look of extreme displeasure. She was furious with Shego for challenging her and furious with herself for fighting back. The goddess had had enough. Forming one last arrow and taking it in her hand she vanished.
The immortal appeared behind Shego; her height had increased and she easily wrapped an arm around the villainess, pinning her back against her. The point of the arrow was pressed firmly against her neck, but Aphrodite did not prick her with it.
“Do you know what this is?” she hissed. “This is a very powerful dose of love, the very kind of love you are so stupidly rejecting right now. All I have to do is push and you’ll be lost to it forever. Now here’s the real truth- love exists and you can’t thwart it with a ball of fire. I’m a package deal, darling. Love can hurt, I know it can. And you’ve been hurt and for that I’m sorry. But you know what?” Aphrodite shrunk so she was an average size again and swiftly collected Shego’s hair in her freehand, her knuckles digging into the back of the woman’s neck. “It can also heal. And you need it.”
She tossed the arrow aside, yanked on Shego’s hair so that her head tilted back, and covered the woman’s mouth with her own in a firm kiss. When the arrow struck the ground it disappeared along with the bow back to Olympus.

Shego’s brow furrowed as the goddess sliced cleanly through her assault, eyes fixed on the ethereal projectiles she had to deal with. They seemed to be made of rose-tinted glass, however from the way they had shimmered into existence and glowed with energy, Shego suspected that these missiles wouldn’t be anywhere near as fragile as an earthly counterpart would be, so rather then attempting to shatter them Shego sufficed in simply bending back in an almost yoga-like fashion so that they soared over her harmlessly.
“What do you know,” giggled Shego, straightening up again and facing Aphrodite, “looks like Barbie has karate-chop action after all.” She stopped her banter as she noticed the goddess conjuring up another arrow. Perfect, seems she really had gotten the fight she wanted. Igniting her hands again, Shego charged forward with a pleased cry… only for her target to vanish before her eyes. The femme fatale was taken aback and attempted to stop, stumbling forward slightly until without warning she was seized from behind by someone with a gentle yet unbreakable grip that could only belong to Aphrodite.
“Geez enough with the monologues,” hissed Shego darkly, carefully making sure to not accidentally prick her neck on the arrow pressed against her throat. It was strange, unlike most weapons it felt warm to the touch, and seemed to be radiating an oddly pleasant aura. She shuddered involuntarily at the love energy’s proximity, subconsciously recoiling away from it. She couldn’t entirely imagine what it would be like to be hit with something like that, so was rather relieved that her captor didn’t seem to be showing any inclination to use it as any more then a threat.
This was bad, if she wasn’t careful then she’d end up impaling herself on the passion projectile, however there was no way Shego’s pride would allow her to remain captured. If she struck the woman carefully with everything she had, it could slacken her arm enough for Shego to slip free and, at the very least, disable her foe in some way. Her chest, it was a vital area in more ways then one, so an attack there would be the most likely to get a reaction. She smirked, shifting position slightly as she prepared to…
Aphrodite’s lips were on hers.
The force of this simple thing was rather akin to an express train hitting her at full speed only to explode on contact. What few thoughts she had were spiralling around her head far too quickly for her to concentrate on any of them, not that she would if she wanted to. She froze once again, however this time it lasted barely seconds, for the force off the kiss smashed through this defence like a wrecking ball through a dry-stone wall. Fire sprang from the point of contact, fire that within moments had spread through Shego’s body and flooded her mind. The power of love was a mighty force indeed, and had its target been able to think then all hatred for Aphrodite would have been (for the moment at least) washed away in the deluge.
Shego acted on instinct. Upon finding her arms now free again she wrapped her fingers around Aphrodite’s hair and pulled the goddess closer as she began to kiss back, gently at first however slowly getting stronger. Time had lost all meaning. It seemed as if it had started both a moment ago and hour ago. For all Shego knew it could have been going on forever, and had she been thinking it all it’s debatable whether she’d even have objected to this idea.

Freeing the villainess’ hair from her tight grip, Aphrodite shifted so that Shego could wrap her arms around her. Her heart did a victory leap when the woman began to kiss her back and as each response built in passion, Aphrodite was elated that all the energy that had previously been cast in rage and violence was now being put to a more loving use. The goddess deepened the kiss, unwilling to release the tigress who had so suddenly transformed into a tame kitten. It was what she had wanted after all, a change in Shego’s attitude, and she was extremely satisfied with the result.
A soft hand glided across the small of Shego’s back, her fingers coming to rest at her waist. It was no secret to any mortal who knew their history and certainly to none of the Gods that Aphrodite was commonly associated with unbridled passion more than anything, though she herself wished to be recognized for all the aspects of love that she stood for; but with the present scene being so labeling and the goddess so determined to guide Shego towards the light, who knew if Aphrodite would deny any accusations thrown her way should someone happen upon them. No one mortal or immortal could possibly understand the intense feelings surging through her body at the moment. It was like an electric current of white hot energy was sent pulsing through her; every touch initiated by the other, every presentation of love, was felt by the goddess of it in a million different ways. Being the recipient of the love she was responsible for was exhilarating and convinced her every day that it needed to be spread throughout the world in all its various forms.
With overzealous force Shego was pushed back against a tree, one of the few that had survived the angry flames from earlier. Curious fingers traced the neckline of Shego’s swimsuit, before Aphrodite reluctantly parted from Shego’s mouth, always coming back to steal another kiss, and then another. There was no hesitation as she finally separated, eagerness to explore a neglected neck taking over. Aphrodite clutched one of Shego’s hands as she mapped her neck out in kisses, her other hand slipping from the woman’s waist to settle comfortably against her hip.

Shego didn’t protest as Aphrodite pushed her back against the tree (not that she would have been able to against a goddess anyway), for her attention was still totally focused on the points of contact between them, all of which were merrily blazing away with a passionate energy that was unlike any Shego had ever felt before. It was soft and sweet, yet somehow intense and passionate at the same time, as if the two different feelings were wrapped around each other so that they could strike her at the same town. She couldn’t breathe, however was far too distracted to care about the distinct lack of oxygen in her head. She was growing increasingly light-headed, which only increased the feelings surging through her; especially from the slim fingers she now found tracing her neckline.
Shego gasped for air as their lips finally broke apart, childishly whining in disappointment for a moment, however before her mind could even begin to stop spinning they were kissing again. The pace was different this time; instead of one long kiss they were shorter and came again and again and again. The villainess’s body quivered slightly as the burning energy spread through it in bursts, the gap between them only serving to make the next even more powerful. Her legs buckled slightly, and had she not had the tree supporting her back she probably would have collapsed to the ground. As it was she slid down slightly, arms firmly wrapped around the immortal’s neck in a futile attempt to pull her down as well.
A fresh gasp escaped from her lips as Aphrodite’s lips began to explore her neck instead. Despite their lips not being in contact any more the passionate force did not begin to stem; instead each fresh point of contact added to it as it rapidly rose into a burning crescendo of energy. Through the overwhelming flow of emotion Shego still managed to smirk mischievously, combat reflexes taking over for a moment as she scooped one leg around in a sort of low kick. It wasn’t aimed at the goddess (she’d learnt in their fight how futile that was) instead it was aimed at the sand beneath her feet which, in a satisfying cloud, cleanly gave way beneath her, thus giving Shego the chance to gasp in triumph and pull Aphrodite down into the sand, landing several well placed kisses of her own.

The goddess was no longer certain whether the heat surrounding the pair was coming from Helios or from them. A particular kiss Shego had bestowed upon her caused a soft moan to leave her lips and she landed on top of the woman with an ‘oomph,’ momentarily pulled from the blissful state she was just in. Her lips twisted into a playful smirk as she realized that though she kept her balance by holding herself up on her left forearm, her right hand was covering Shego’s heart. A rapid heartbeat could be felt beneath her palm and her fingers curled downwards as if they were trying to capture the vital organ. Aphrodite delivered a series of quick kisses upon Shego’s mouth, before dipping lower and placing a single one against her throat, pleasurable sensations stirring within her once again. The mortal heart was extremely interesting, for it could not lie. A single touch could either cause it to slow or to rapidly pick up the pace. Sometimes it could barely felt and then there were the times where the heart pounded so hard against the ribcage, it threatened to burst through. Aphrodite laid her head against Shego’s chest, intently watching her fingers caress this woman’s heart, listening to all it had to say.
The moment seemed to last forever, the goddess’ breathing matching the rise and fall of Shego’s chest. Desire was a very powerful force and though Aphrodite did not think it possible, it continued to rise within her, but before she let the passion she was so famously known for consume her once again, she removed her hand and placed a tender kiss against Shego’s heart, grateful to be the goddess who was responsible for something that could be so delicate and strong at once. The tip of her nose led her across the woman’s collar bone and up along her neck, until she forced herself up on to her forearms, only to lean down and whisper against the villainess’ ear,
“I’m so glad your heart’s not made of stone.”
She sucked briefly on the lobe of Shego’s ear before moving to reclaim the mortal’s lips in a more teasing fashion than before, the hurried need to have them earlier having passed. As her tongue played games, Aphrodite slid a hand beneath the strap of the woman’s swimsuit, exploring the untouched area of her shoulder. She would know every inch of her before leaving this beach; of this much the goddess was certain. And if she happened to forget after this was all over, she would have to return to Shego until she had her completely memorized. Aphrodite had favourites and this mortal was quickly becoming one.
Her arm scooped beneath the small of Shego’s back, lifting her into a tighter embrace while she deepened their kiss. A sudden and overwhelming desire to speak was the only reason for her release and allowing the woman a moment to resettle into the soft sand beneath her, she licked her lips and caught her breath.
“Let me love you,” she panted. “Let me love you.” Her eyes searched Shego’s and she encouraged an unspoken ‘yes’ with a kiss. “Let me love you,” Aphrodite murmured repeatedly, while the fingers on one hand crept up the inside of other’s thigh.

“Wow…”
Shego’s voice trailed off after this, staring almost vacantly out towards the darkened sea as she got her breath back. Despite the lateness of the hour she still had to narrow her eyes slightly, to shield them from the lingering rays of the slowly setting sun. Her sunglasses had been tossed… somewhere: she hadn’t bothered to keep track after they ended up in several pieces. Still, even if Shego had known where an in-tact pair could be found, it was doubtful that she would have chosen to move from this spot.
“That was…” she lapsed into silence once again, absent-mindedly counting the rise and fall of her chest with each breath. Or were they her own breaths? She was resting rather comfortably with one arm across the goddess, so wasn’t entirely sure that the steady rise and fall was coming from her or the woman beside her. After a moment or two Shego decided that it wasn’t important whose breaths she was counting and let her mind drift once again, for it was still spinning wildly in every imaginable direction. It was odd, with the darkening sky and the breeze that was accompanying it (which Shego was honestly only aware of because it was whipping her hair to one side), Shego felt that she should be a lot colder then she was. Yet despite this there seemed to be an inextinguishable warmth in her very core… or was it the burning swimsuit nearby? This question didn’t seem important either; Shego was simply relieved that she wasn’t feeling the cold. “That was… wow…” She didn’t seem to be capable of forming anything more eloquent then this. However this seemed more then adequate given the situation, and even if she’d been able to think perfectly clearly Shego doubted that she’d have been able to sum up what had just happened any better. Any summation would seem forced and unnatural, not coming anywhere close to accurately describing the near-unbelievable thing that Shego had just experienced. It was… it was… just wow.

Aphrodite lay nestled against Shego watching the stars slowly creep out of their hiding places, absently stroking the forearm draped over her. A soft small slipped into place as the other woman repeatedly fell into silence, leaving the immortal to wonder about what she was thinking. A not-so-innocent giggle was the response to the words finally delivered and Aphrodite turned her head slightly towards Shego, their foreheads brushing.
“You know, I’m not so bad once you get to know me,” she said playfully, running a finger down the bridge of Shego’s nose. “I’m just glad you finally spent some of that energy in a much more positive way.” She pushed her lips against the woman’s temple. “It’s almost a shame you’re mortal. Because I really could kiss you forever.”
Green flames drew her attention away and she watched them consume the swimsuit, reliving the rather hilarious moment that had led up to that with an amused smirk. Currently the pair was half covered by the cloth that made up the goddess’ chiton. “What are you going to do about that?” she asked, lazily lifting a finger to gesture at the burning garment. Almost possessively, Aphrodite squeezed the woman’s waist, hugging her so she wouldn’t scamper off to douse the flames. It was far too much fun having her here now that she knew how pleasantly surprising a problem case like her could be. Why, the mortal had taken a her breath away a few times that evening; highly unusual, but then she was super human. These “mythological texts” that now existed stated that the Gods chased after only the most beautiful humans but often failed to mention the fact that mortals failed at truly satisfying the immortals that went to claim them. Aphrodite was content.
In reality, Aphrodite had only kissed Shego to teach her a lesson, never expecting to enjoy the educational experience herself. Whatever happened from this point on was difficult to determine since both of them seemed to be so relaxed and uncaring about anything at the moment, but still- should the villainess ever have any need to release any of her frustrations, Aphrodite hoped she would seek out a much more appropriate response than violence by visiting her. If that meant finally talking about her troubles then that was wonderful, if she had to be rid of them by taking a more intimate route, there would be no complaints either. After all, Aphrodite liked to help in any way that she could.

Shego rolled her eyes at Aphrodite’s words, mind gradually returning to at least a semblance of its normal state. Could the immortal really not let it go so she could simply enjoy the moment? She sighed, twisting slightly to look over at Aphrodite, not at all phased now by how close the goddess’s face was to hers.
“Don’t kid yourself Barbie,” she began, speaking in her usual sardonic tones, “this doesn’t change anything between us.” She giggled to herself, continuing to enjoy the moment in silence. “Though I will admit, I have used my energy in worse ways.” Now that her thoughts were settling again she was beginning to become concerned that Aphrodite would believe this meant more then it actually did. She had learnt in her research on the pantheon that they had a tendency to become rather possessive of the mortals they took a fancy for, and Shego had no desire to find herself locked in a box and hidden away in the underworld.
“I liked that one,” murmured Shego, gazing regretfully at the dying embers of the fire that had consumed her former swimsuit. The garment had been designer, and one of the most expensive of the available selection. Not that Shego had paid for it, but having stolen rather then paid for it didn’t make it much less irritating to have to procure another. She was uncomfortably aware that the goddess’s grip around her waist had taken on a distinctly possessive quality, to the extent that Shego rather doubted that she would be able to worm her way away from the immortal even if she wanted to. It wasn’t that she wasn’t comfortable, after all the way Aphrodite’s finger was tracing her arm almost made Shego want to giggle again, however the prevailing threat to the whole thing had rather set a limit on Shego’s enjoyment.
“Okay, priorities here,” muttered the villainess, brushing a strand of hair out of her face with her free hand, “not that this isn’t great and all, but I’m going to need something to wear.” She rubbed her eyes, fighting the lethargy that was sweeping over her following the significant amount of energy that she’d just expended. She’d rather appreciate a chance to get some sleep some time soon; however the beach was far too compromising a location to relax in. Granted this precaution was rather late considering the situation, however Shego was the type to stay on her guard most of the time.
"Would it be way too optimistic to assume you had some sort of clothing spell amongst all those heart-candy powers of yours?"

Shego did not have to be overly concerned about Aphrodite, for while the goddess did have her favourites, commitment was very difficult for her and she would never have any intentions of keeping the woman all to herself (though presently the idea seemed very nice). Shego was not destined for a goddess anyway, no her true love would be found in a mortal. Of course… should she keep attacking people when they tried to get closer to her, it would make the quest for love ten times more difficult. It was not alarming to hear Shego confess that even though they had just shared an unbelievably pleasant experience her feelings of animosity would not change so easily. No, Aphrodite was not surprised by the confession, just mildly disappointed.
“I didn’t think it would,” she sighed, relaxing her grip. “You’re far too stubborn to let one encounter phase you.” One encounter being the key words; the goddess chose not to elaborate on the possibility that she may return to Shego at some point to conduct another lesson with the hopes that a conversion towards good and love would be made. The finger running patterns along Shego’s arm stopped when the woman began to express her concern about her lack of clothing. With a defeated sigh Aphrodite craned her neck to get a better look at the remains of the once smoldering swimsuit.
“Unfortunately it would,” she admitted and reluctantly pushed herself up into a sitting position. “Take my chiton. I can get back to Mount Olympus far quicker than you can get to your home. Which reminds me….”
Glancing up, Aphrodite spied a pink heart floating down towards them; on it was an object she cast aside earlier. Removing the shell necklace, the goddess offered it towards Shego.
“Here. It’s for you. One of the shells reminded me of you. Consider it a peace offering, or at least a reminder that you can always come to my temple if you need me. Now don’t be proud and push it away, or say something snide. Just accept it and leave it at that.”

Shego couldn’t stop herself from groaning as the goddess offered her the use of her chiton in place of any alternate clothing arrangements. Oh the immortal’s reasons for this made perfect sense, but it was simply far too pink for the villainess’s tastes.
“You don’t have anything in green do you?” she muttered under her breath, gritting her teeth slightly as she slipped into the unearthly garment. It seemed to be made of no fabric Shego had ever felt before. It was as tough as iron, yet somehow softer then silk at the same time, as if somehow all of the qualities of spider silk had been woven into the fabric. Then again, these were gods she was talking about, who knew what they were capable of?
Gods and goddesses. The human world was always at the mercy of these phenomenal beings, as if all of humanity were one giant toy collection for them to manipulate at will. Yet the gods were generally peaceful, working together with each other rather then any one trying to assume total control. Oh there was the occasional wild-card such as the lord of the dead, but he had been far too reliant on the powers of the titans. What if there was another way… forget what if, another way had been inadvertently revealed to her during her argument with Aphrodite. The question was, what if there were someone with vision, a god who actually would be able to rule. Someone like…
Shego’s train of thought was interrupted as Aphrodite offered her the necklace. She was rather unused to this sort of affection, so was momentarily dumbstruck on how to react. Aphrodite clearly understood her very well, for she covered every possible refusal of the item in her request. But then again… there was an idea forming in the back of Shego’s mind. Perhaps it would be better to accept this, and stay in the goddess’s favour.
“Whatever,” replied Shego, taking the offered jewellery and clipping it on as if the gesture had no meaning. She was doing her best to ignore the bare woman beside her, which was no mean feat considering it was the goddess of beauty.
