Horvath and I have been chatting, and we've decided I need to delve into his past a little more. So he has graciously allowed me access to some of his old journals, and now I share them with you.
Against my better judgement.
Oh hush, oldtimer. It's for the best.
Of course it is. *rolls eyes*
Please don't laugh at him. He used to be an absolutely atrocious speller.
Day 1
Merlin has insisted Iright rite in this jernal as a way to improov (that truly doesn't look quite rite) both my spelling and riting. I don't really care to, but Balthazar, the other apprentice, has teesed me about it. He can rite and spell just fine, but then again, he's a barons sun. (Son? I hate this language) He's been riting for years. I've had to pick it up over the course of the last several months since Merlin took me in as his apprentice.
Reeding and riting are not the only things I've had to learn. The child of commoners stands out in King Arthur's cort, surrounded by the nobility. At least I learn quickly (and can remember that silly rule about the q and the u...) and I have a nack for figuring out what people are up to. Merlin has me play a game where I watch people and tell him about them. I'm not sure why he wants me to do so, but at leest watching others helps me figure out how to act to fit in... I have to learn fast- Merlin says he cannot teach me reel magik until I have a basic education.
I want to learn magik. I want to be able to do the sorts of things Merlin can do. I never want to just be ignored like I was back home. I want to be noticed, not thought of as something low and slimy and not worth paying atention to.
Wich meens I have to hurry up and learn this riting stuff. One day I shall be the gratest sorcerer the world has ever known.
