What is your character's history? Are they a hero, or a villain, a sidekick or guardian? What has happened to them in their lives to make them the way they are today?
Obviously Flynn Ryder's the hero in his - Rapunzel's story...
Let's start from the beginning and work our way up shall we?
Flynn Ryder is a very vain, greedy, humorous and charming character. He changed his name Flynn Ryder from a book he used to read who was a swashbuckling hero, because he felt his real name shamed him too much, since it sounded, well, crappy. Eugene Fitzherbert. Eh? Anywho, Flynn has only told one person his past name, and she likes to use it, but anyone else, don't think about it. Growing up as an orphan, Flynn was the one who liked to read to the younger kids, and it can be thought that Flynn is a nice, heart-felt guy underneath his smug, overly arrogant features. His goal in life has always been to get a bunch of money, find himself an island and just live there ALONE with all his precious money, but all that has changed since he met the girl he likes to call blondie, Rapunzel. He tends to show his softer, more caring, and not to mention charming/romantic side, when he's around her. A lot of the other time however, it's shown just how humorous, clever and witted Flynn is. Extreamly rebellious, and stubborn, Flynn chooses his own path and often acts without thinking. He's a gifted thief, horse rider, rope-swinger, climber of towers(lol) and fighter. Flynn is pretty self-absorbed and likes to talk about his awesome looks and talents often, but don't let that keep you from becoming friends with a cool, funny guy. The one person he's shown to put before himself, would be Rapunzel, having basically not caring for his own life, but hers so she wouldn't have to be prisoner to Mother Gothel any longer.
history: Flynn Ryder as far as he's let on, lived as an orphan for most of his youth, and never realy mentioned anything about his real parents or having any siblings. As far as we know, he grew up and out of the orphanage and spent alot of his time stealing and commiting petty crimes with two people he thought were his 'friends', until one day, they all decided to go steal the crown for the long lost princess in their kingdom.

So after sucessfully grabbing the jewled crown, Flynn and his two robbing companions took off and ended up in the forest on a mad run from the palace guards who road on horseback. Cornered by a tall bouldered wall, Flynn tricked the two nuckleheads and took off with the crown, leaving them to get caught, and Flynn still with the expensive crown. Having a short battle with the top horse, Maximus, Flynn and him ended up falling off a cliff, but having survived (somehow), Ryder took the closest hiding spot he could find. Which ended up being a tall, hidden tower.

Thinking he was alone and it was all clear to have a closer look at his finding, Flynn let his guard down to reach into his satchal to be wacked along the back of the head by the tower's occupant. After what seemed like several hours, Flynn woke up to find himself strapped to a chair by...hair? Indeed it was hair, alot of longg blonde hair. Very puzzled and freaked at this point, Flynn met the girl whom the hair belonged. Her name was Rapunzel he found out, and it turned out, she wasn't going to give him his satchel he took her out to see the glowing lanterns the king and queen set off each year. Totally not wanting to go with this plan, Flynn did his best to whoo Rapunzel, even used the smolder! but to no avail, he was forced to do what she said.

After setting foot on the grass below, Flynn endured a moody, and enphisis on MOOODYY, Rapunzel, what was this chick's deal? Well, her deal, with what Flynn could pick out, was that she wasn't really supposed to be out of her tower, since her mother was some control freak. Getting impatient with Rapunzel, Flynn leads them to the 'Snuggly Duck', in hopes of getting her to change her mind and just go on back to the tower, give him his crown back and leaving it at that. However, things at the pub didn't turn out the way Flynn planned.

The thugs at the pub ended up starting a fight over who would turn Flynn in for the reward money, perfect right? After almost getting pulled to pieces, Rapunzel somehow manages to save both their arses and sing their way into the thug's hearts (er?), however, the police soon arrive and they both make an escape through a secret tunnel. Except that, they were followed and ended up doing a little dance with the palace guards. This was when things turned from bad to worse. After narrowly escaping with just a frying pan and Rapunzel's hair, they both nearly drown when the dam breaks and floods the cave they both dived into. In a rush Flynn reveals his real name, Eugene, believing it to be embarassing, since they were both going to die. Rapunzel admits to having glowing hair when she sings, which Flynn takes very oddly, but somehow, they both survive when she lights the way to the bottom of the flooded cave, both able to dig out in the nik of time.

Having injured his hand back in the cave, Rapunzel heals it using her hair. Near a river bank, Rapunzel tells Flynn her backstory, and he learns that should her hair be cut, it would lose its power. Eventually, Flynn and Rapunzel arrive at the kingdom for the festival. That night, Flynn takes Rapunzel out on a rowboat, very quickly finding out his feelings for Rapunzel. However, their perfect moment was cut short when he notices his two 'pals' by the shore, obviously wanting him to follow them. Knowing what he needed to do to get them off his back for good, Flynn goes to shore, and assures Rapunzel that he would return momentarily. Returning the crown to both, after having said he didn't want it anymore, both men assure him that they didn't want it either, since they've found out about Rapunzel and her magic hair, obviously worth a bunch if they were to use her to profit from. So, Flynn is knocked unconscious The Stabbington Brothers, who were hired by Mother Gothel to retrieve Rapunzel. While Rapunzel is returned to the tower and tricked into believing Flynn abandoned her, Flynn is tied to a boat and taken to jail.

Later, Flynn is taken to be put to death, when he notices the Scabbington Brothers. They reveal that Rapunzel is with Mother Gothel. Flynn is able to escape, and rushes to save Rapunzel. He becomes worried when Rapunzel does not answer his calls, but her hair soon comes down to let him climb up. However, he finds Rapunzel tied up, and Flynn is mortally stabbed by Mother Gothel. Mother Gothel attempts to leave with Rapunzel, but Rapunzel convinces Mother Gothel that she would go willingly if she let Rapunzel heal Flynn. Flynn, however, prefers to die rather than Rapunzel be a prisoner, so he cuts Rapunzel's hair, which causes it to lose it's power and turn brown. Mother Gothel rapidly ages and dies, as Rapunzel's hair had been keeping her alive. While Rapunzel is saying goodbye to the dying Flynn, she inadvertently heals him with one of her tears. Crazy stuff.

Right now, Flynn has been pardoned by Rapunzel's parents, after he takes her back to the castle, so she could retake her position as the princess. So, right now, he's living pretty happily with his soon to be future wife, in perhaps a couple years time! That is, if she says yes! Which she will

Give us a small sample of how you will play your character. Please don't copy a scene from their movie, and give us at least three paragraphs.
Flynn woke with a start as a loud clap of thunder sounded outside the wall of the castle he was now occupying with Rapunzel's family. Hey, rescuing their daughter from that evil hag had it's perks! But, one of those perks didn't include sharing the same room with his girlfriend (oooficially stated!). Now really, that was pure ridiciousness. Weren't they basically adults now? Sheesh. But that would in all indeed change once he popped the question! in like..um, a few years, since it was obviously too soon now. But there was no denying the fact just how mad, deeply he and her were in love. He wooed her, and he was definitely going to woo her parents next, especially if that granted him access to Rapunzel's living quarters at night...
Back to the storm raging outside, Flynn turned to look out the window at the flashes of light appearing rapidly in the cool night. How strange, their was no signs of clouds that day, in fact, the weather showed to be quite nice all throughout that week. But what was REALLY odd was the fact that Flynn Ryder was being awoken by such a source. Usually he slept like a horse! And when horse is said, it's really implying an actual horse, not Max, since the sound of a feather hitting the ground would wake THAT blood-hound up. Yikes. No, this was definitely new for Flynn. Blinking driftingly, Flynn was in the state of going back to sleep when out of no where, a lumbering shadow appeared near the front wall, Giving a short yell of surprise, fully awake, Flynn immediately stumbled out of bed, a frying pan held between his hands in a flash, keeping one under the pillow was always a good idea. And in all honestly, it proved to be a better object to use in a fight than anything he's ever used, thank Rapunzel for that tip. His eyes glued to the spot he saw the shadow, knowing he hadn't just seen something imaginary, this was definitely real, but what could have accompanied that shadow? It looked big, and scary, almost creature-like, a werewolf? Naw, those didn't exist. Did they? Giving a slight gulp, Flynn scanned around the room, pan raised above his head slightly. After a minute or two of nothing happening and only the pattering of the rain and distant sound of thunder outside, Flynn sat down on the mattress and let out a short 'hmm'. He swore their had been something there, or someone, but who? What? Quietly pondering, Flynn finally told himself to stop being an idiot, and to go back to his fantasy dreams involving Rapunzel and a field of roses. Several minutes passed again as the hazel-eyed man lay in bed, staring up at the ceiling, utterly bored now. How could he go to sleep again after being woken up? That was something he had trouble with, stupid storm, and stupid shadow! Grumbling slightly, annoyed at the ruckus this castle was making (and just the second night too!) Flynn very agitated. Sure it was past, what, midnight, nothing wrong with waking up a sleeping lion in his den! Sarcasim there if you didn't pick it up..
Quickly slipping on some light clothes, Flynn grabbed the candle holder along with a match before turning to the door of the quiet room. He wasn't really planning on going anywhere in particular once he exited the room, so he just decided to wander aimlessly around the huge abode.
surely the night guards won't arrest me for sleep-walking? Flynn thought in mere amusment as he lit the candle quickly, heading out into the corridor. The rain from outside seemed to have lightened, for once he started up the long pathway, it seemed very quiet.
There didn't seem to be any guards up on this floor, well, perhaps they just guarded downstairs. or feel asleep on the job Flynn was sure of the second proposal. Feeling very much awake now, Flynn came to a wall with an array of painting with, who Flynn guessed, were Rapunzel's parents, grandparents, cousins perhaps, and other people who looked important. Flynn couldn't imagine what it must be like to be from a royal family. Well...Since Brownie (that's what he liked to call her now, since she's brunette) didn't really know she was royal until fourty-eight hours ago, he can't think of how psyched she must be about that. Heck, he sure would be! Yeah, there was something about royalty that made Flynn all fuzzy inside, was it the money? Perhaps, but maybe the one thing that really made him feel warm was the fact that he could be with Rapunzel without any sort of judgement- Okay, maybe there was some. But did the palace guards really count? They just hate him because he 'stole' some priceless jewls and rubies from them once upon a time ago. Big deal, he was practically family now! They'd get over that sooner or later... Though, even if Flynn was indeed considered apart of their family unofficially, that still didn't mean he would quit his ways, it's always been his thing to go out and commit theivory. That's what made him Flynn Ryder! Plus, he grew up in an Orphanage, they didn't teach him right from wrong when it came to street buzz.
Lost in thought, Flynn didn't notice when a small figure came crawling up his leg and up his forearm straight to his shoulder. He DID however notice when said small critter stuck something sticky and warm in his left ear.
"Wah-!" Flynn exclaimed before slapping his hand against the ear none other than that stupid frog, thing, lizard! Came up and did the thing he hated most. "Where did you come from?" Flynn growled in a whisper, suddenly aware of just how close he was to Rapunzel's room, having not realized his feet had taken him straight to her door.
Upon seeing the look on Pascal's greenish face, he could tell the little demon lizard wasn't at all approving of what he (flynn) must be doing at the moment. "Stop staring at me like that, I'm not doing anything wrong, can't a handsome guy like me wander aimlessly through a castle at night?" Flynn demanded accusingly, holding the light chest high so he could see Rapunzel's pet more easily. Flynn frowned even more deeply at Pascal as he started to glare now, "Your a stalker, you know that? Get outta here..." And with that said, Flynn flicked the green chameleon off his shoulder and turned ready to leave before stopping abruptly. The reason for the sudden halt was because, their was some sort of...muffled sound coming from the other side of the door he was standing by. Rapunzel's door. That wasn't just muffled noises, it was muffled screams!
"Rapunzel?" Flynn half whispered, half yelled (if that were possible). As he said this, he swung around swiftly and pressed his ear against the door of her room, and sure enough, he could indeed here someone screaming, but their voice was being muffled by something, a pillow maybe? Didn't matter! Rapunzel needed rescuing!
Not waiting another second, dropping the candle he held, the flame somehow going out quickly, Flynn tried the door-knob, and no surprise, it was locked. She couldn't have locked it on purpose could she?! Taking a deep breath, and with a determined face, Flynn backed away from the door and with all his strength took a mad run toward it, in hopes of knocking it down with his shoulder.
OW!
He recoiled backward, holding his shoulder, pain sketched across his face at the now throbing shoulder he was craddling with his free hand. "Son of a-" He swore loudly, not meaning to. But he needed help! How was he supposed to get in now? He jumped at the sound of another voice clearly hearable through the door even, "Hold still you little brat!" Flynn's eyes widened at the mysteriously voiced person who talked, and attempted to knock down the door once again, "Rapunzel! Hey! Hold on! I'm.....coming....to....save...you...!" He yelled with each new ram of the door he gave the blasted thing. "My GOSH! What is this made of?!" He cried out desperately, his shoulder screaming for him to stop, but he wouldn't, he had to get to Rapunzel! His eyes flashed across the hall, expecting to see a guard, her parents even! To be rushing out to come help save his lover, but...there was no one! Even Pascal had gone missing! Flynn noticed as he ran his fingers through his messy hair, "Where is everyone?!" He echoed down the hall, half angry, and half worried before remembering that his room was just three down from hers! He could go out through the window and reach her room! He just hoped he wouldn't be too late! But from what he was hearing, Rapunzel was putting up one nasty fight in there. He distinctly heard the word 'bitch' used several times coming from Rapunzel, something she used very rarely! Man, to think, he was missing a cat fight with his girl! Gah! Not the time to be thinking like that Flynn! He told himself, as he sprinted down the hall to his room, vaulting over his bed and to the window, the rain was pouring like a mad hatter this time (strange weather we're having!). Flynn disliked getting his hair wet, especially out in the rain, but his determination to save the woman he really did love to death was coursing through him, making him do it. He wasn't going to let anyone take Rapunzel from him again, now that was a promise!
