The Sorcerer's Apprentices: UPDATE- PLEASE READ

To all who may be interested:

Over the centuries, belief in magic has dropped off considerably. The old ways, the old magics, are becoming forgotten. In time, when I die, many secrets will be lost with me.

To that end, I seek to take on new apprentices, to teach the lore of magic to and pass on my knowledge. I shall take on several students to teach the basics to, and then I shall stage a magical competition to determine the best and brightest among you. That winner shall become my protege and be granted powers beyond their imagination.

Be warned, the path of the sorcerer is long and difficult. It requires many sacrifices, but brings with it great rewards. The student who earns the position of my protege will one day be as formidable as the great Merlin himself, the sorcerer who taught me.

My potential apprentices, merely express your wish to join me and I shall contact you with further information.

Right, thank you Horvath for that lovely introduction. *claps hands together* Here's how it's gonna be, folks. My dear friend Horvath here is taking on apprentices to train for a magical competition. Spell books and focus rings will be provided by his Sorcererness. Simply sign up below, and Horvath shall contact you with further information regarding get-togethers. This plot is open to anyone (except Merlin, but then, what could he learn from Horvath? ), and your characters will be learning sorcery, which we are considering a separate system of magic from whatever else may be floating around here. Leave the teaching to Horvath. You'll be in good hands with him.

It's time to get rolling, my dears. I am going to start a thread (entitled 'First Class') with Horvath in his usual lair. You will have until midnight Pacific Standard Time (GMT-8) on Wednesday, February 2, 2011, to reply. If you have not responded by this time, your character will be considered absent from the introduction meeting and Horvath will be very, very displeased.

I am going to try and start getting things moving here. From here on out, you will be given ONE WEEK from the time of my last post to respond to any thread you are doing with Horvath. If you fail to respond within that time without notifying me about an absence (please PM me specifically if you're going to be absent, don't just post it on the absentee board), your character will be considered truant.

If you collect three truancies, Horvath will dismiss your character from his lessons and you will no longer be permitted to play in this plot.

Sorcerery and role-playing alike require dedication and commitment. All I am asking, at bare minimum, is for one post per week for as long as you are having a thread going with Horvath. This will serve to keep things from stagnating too badly.

Horvath: Additionally, I have no desire to teach students who do not respect their master and what they are learning enough to commit. Studying magic is a privilege. I expect you to demonstrate that you are worthy enough to be permitted the chance.
