Character Name Mirana of Marmoreal, The White Queen
Movie Character Appears In Alice in Wonderland
~~~Who I am Inside~~~
"Mirana, The White Queen, is the younger sister of Iracebeth, The Red Queen. And while she appears to be all sweetness and light, beneath teh surface, there's a hint of darkness to her character. She comes from the same gene pool as the Red Queen. She really likes the dark side, but she's so scared of going too far into it that she's made everything appear very light and happy. But she's living in that place out of fear that she won't be able to control herself.
When Alice returns to Underland, the White Queen takes her under her wing, offering her protection, although her motives arent completely altruistic."
- From the Disney homepage.
As it said on the Disney page, the White Queen is a rather ironic character. She appears to be all white, innocent and kind on the surface, but on the inside, she is rather dark. But she is afraid of that side, so that's why she tries to appear like the white Queen she is said to be.
The first time we see the White Queen in the movie, is in the Mad Hatter's flashback, from before he got mad, and worked as her hatter.
She sits on her horse and everything is... all happiness and joy. They were celebrating and had such a... happy moment.
The Red Queen's red knights arrive and ruin the party, making the crown fall off the White Queen's head as she loses the vorpal sword. That's all we see, until we get interrupted by Alice calling the mad hatter.
The second time we see her is when Bayard the bloodhound comes to her castle. She is with her court in the garden, discussing on how to appear as ligt and kind as possible. Bayard delivers the news about that Alice has returned to Underland, and the White Queen ends the scene by saying "We have our champion." and telling the dog to rest...
The third time is when Alice arrives at her castle, riding on the Bandersnatch. She gives the White Queen the Vorpal Sword, and the queen shrinks the now very big Alice back to her original size by making her a potion, and taking her to the porch where Absolem is waiting.
The fourth time we see her, is when she and Alice stand at the porch looking at the sky, discussing. The White Queen wants a champion to fight for her side, because she can't fight herself, as it is against her vows to hurt any living creature. That is when Bayard's wife and pups, the Tweedles and the Mad Hatter arrive to the castle. She welcomes them.
The fifth time is when she's standing by her castle and the white hare asks for a champion for the White Queen. It appears that Alice is meant to be the dragonslayer, but she doesn't want to be the one slaying the Jabberwocky. She tells Alice that she did have a choice to slay the dragon, that Alice had to choose it herself, not live her life to please others. Alice runs to the porch.
The sixth time is before the big fight, on the Frabjous Day, and the White Queen is preparing her horse. She gets relieved when Alice comes out of the castle with her armor on, riding on the Bandersnatch. She has changed her mind, so the White Queen doesn't have to fight after all. The army start walking towards the chessboard, where they meet the Red Queen's army. The white and teh red queen meet, and the White Queen begs the Red Queen to cancel the battle. The Red Queen doesn't change her mind, and calls for the Jabberwocky. And the battle begins. The White and the red Queen stand in the background watching the battle. And when Alice manages to slay the Jabberwocky, the battle is over. Mirana is disgusted by the head of the creature being cut off, but happy the battle is over, as there is nothing more to fear from the Red Queen.
The Cheshire cat puts the crown back on the White Queen's head, and she's the queen of Underland again. She banishes the Red Queen and her knight to the Outlands, where no one would be allowed to show them any kindness, or talk to them. They are forced to spend the eternity of Underland and the loneliness together.
They celebrate the Frabjous Day watching the Mad Hatter doing the Futterwacken dance, and everyone is happy again (except for the Red Queen and her knight...). The White Queen gives Alice a bottle of blood from the Jabberwocky, that would take the drinker anywhere he/she likes. Alice drinks it and gets back home.
She is either a guardian or a sidekick.
The White Queen is the way she is because she has always lived in her own world, her own.... misty, strangely happy world for her whole life and is never going to change. She might have been spoilt by her parents, and the fact that she's the youngest sibling, makes it easier to understand why she is like this.
Describe your character's personality. What are their strengths and weaknesses, what are their passions? What qualities do they have that are good or bad?
The best word to describe the White Queen is floating. She appears to be a very kind woman, and behaves as light as air. She is fair and beautiful, like an elf queen. And she is acting like one. She moves as gracefully as possible, and talks with a light voice.
Her strength is her mind. She is a pacifist and will never hurt any other creature. She is very charming and sweet. Or, she knows how to appear charming and sweet. Her strength is also her beauty. Her sister, the Red Queen, mentioned in the movie that their parents used to do as she wanted because of her face. She knows how to tie people around her little finger and get what she wants.
Her weakness is the darkness. She likes it, it fascinates her. She does after all come from the same place as her sister. Her weakness is also that she is a Mary Sue who is always acting right and always has to appear with grace. You will never find her in a sofa, farting and burping... She will always appear as perfect as possible.
Her big passion is her "fight" against evil. I put fight in apostrophe because she only fights in an indirect way. She fights for good both in Underland and in her own head. She is winning on the outside, but you will never know when the good in her turns into evil.
~~~That's How You Know~~~
Give us a small sample of how you will play your character. Please don't copy a scene from their movie, and give us at least three paragraphs.
As the sun rose up on the sky, Mirana, the White Queen rose up from her bed. She stretched and opened her eyes as she slowly started to wake up.
One of her servants entered the room, asking if she wanted anything. Her lips parted in a lovely smile as she looked at her beloved servant with large amiability in her face. Her hands were still up, but her elbows sunk down. Her eyes were opened widely as she smiled at her.
"No, thank you, my dear. I can find my own clothes today, thank you." she said softly, still smiling at her servant.
With a small curtsy, the servant turned and walked out of the room.
The White Queen slid out of her bed. She never jumped or walked out of her bed - she slid. Slowly and carefully, as though she had an audience in the room. She knew how to keep her appearance as a lovely queen.
Gliding gracefully to her closet, finding her favorite white dress, then over to the Display Board to change. As she was sure no one watched her when getting dressed, she quickly pulled on the dress outside her undergarment. She didn't use a corset. No one would notice that anyway. As appearance was the most important thing for her, Mirana thought it as unnecessary to wear a corset, as no one but her King would ever see her without her dress on. And the White King had been dead for years.
As she got dressed, she walked to the mirror, putting on makeup.
With a last powder puff, she decided she looked good enough to walk down and have her breakfast.
"Now, what will this day bring?" She softly said to herself, smiling lovely and with her hands gracefully lifted, and gliding out of her room and down the stairs to the Dining Room.
~~~You and Me Together We'll Be~~~
Why this character? What draws you to them, what makes you want to play them? Do you have anything in common with them?
I have to say it. I love playing beautiful characters. And I think it's fun exaggerating Mary Sues. She won't be a Mary Sue if I exaggerate, will she? I hope not. She reminds me of an original character I play at another site. She, too, is fair and beautiful and kind. But she is more like the heroine from Legally Bonde. I'm going to play the White Queen very absent-minded, very... fever-like. And bubbly, too. She will be fun!
I am very absent-minded and fever-like. And naive. But the White Queen isn't that naive, though. But I will play her a bit naive, too. Since she's the spoilt younger sister.
What would you like your custom title to be? This can be anything you like in reference to your character and will appear under your name.
(no custom title, I have no idea on what that could be. But if one of you have an idea, just write that )
Who else do you play here?
I used to play Chel
