I'll have to jump in later for my review, but everyone else feel free to chat about Hercules. I look forward to Hades' thoughts.
You know me well, don't you, Elisa??? ;D ;D
Oh god(s). Where do I start with this movie??? -will try not to ramble on about Hades that much-
Okay, okay, I'll do it this way:
The Characters (well, the three main ones)
Hercules!: Hercules is one of my favorite Disney heroes (but not my favorite. hmm, strange) because he's so...different.
Most of the heroes have a flaw, I have to admit, whether it be that they're too boring (Prince Charming), too....savage (Tarzan--no offence, Tarzan fans), a liar (Aladdin, but I love him anyway), et cetera, et cetera. Except for falling in love with, at first, the wrong person, Herc really has no obvious flaw. Maybe that he's just so gosh darned naive?? That could be it. He's got that adorable goody-two-shoes innocence about him, which isn't really a flaw because I think we all really like this about him. Well, I do.
He's got a good heart, he does, really, and I really like that about him.
See, now the thing is, my inner Hades (I AM NOT KIDDING ABOUT THIS!) kind of prevents me from going on and on about Hercules (good things, I mean), so I can't reall, even though I do love him a lot.
Meg: Oh. In the whole movie, she's got to be my favorite character--next to Hades of course.
She's one of the only Disney princesses (TRUTH! MEG IS A PRINCESS! THE DAUGHTER OF KING CREON!! LOOK IT UP, IT'S PART OF THE MYTHS!!) who doesn't need--or want--'Prince Charming' to come and find her. She's smart, spunky, has an attitude, is pretty, works for Hades (that's a plus in my book), and et cetera and et cetera. Plus, she has an amazing voice.
Oh well. You knew it was coming, folks.
Heh. ^^
I love him. I love him. I do, I really do. He's not only my favorite Disney character, but my favorite cartoon character and my favorite character in Greek mythology. He's three times my favorite.
Take that, Jerkules.
His voice is amazing--I love James Woods for doing his voice (I swear, NOONE else could ever do it), and I love him for swearing to do the voice of Hades 'til the day he dies. That voice, the way he talks, the words he uses, the way he says them, jeez, it's so freaking sexy it makes me swoon just to imagine it.
I love his whole personality.
James Woods said something once about how, when they were searching for Hades' voice, everyone came in with these big, scary sounding 'Lord of the Dead' voices, the scariest thing they could think of. James came in as the SECOND scariest thing he could think of--that fast-talking sleazeball running the used car store or trying to sell you a condo or something like that. And they (the producers/directors/whatever) loved it.
So do I.
I love his face. (someone at my school said that he had fishlips. I almost killed her. XD). If you compare him to James Woods, they look quite similar, really, they do. And since James is quite sexy...well, that says that about Hades. ^^
I love the way he treats Pain and Panic (yup, I'm twisted, aren't I??), I love his explosions, his temper---
Okay. Okay, okay, okay, I'll stop. You get the idea. ;D
And now, with not much else to say, I conclude this--review? no, more like a Hades-rant--by saying:
This, ladies and gentlemen, is my favorite Disney movie ever. I've seen this movie so many times I can quote it, and I do so on a daily basis. The animation is great, it's clever, it's funny, and it's a shame it never got the credit it deserved, If you haven't seen this movie already? Ooh, boy, are you missing out. Go see it.
I command you. O.O
There ya go, Elisa, did I disappoint?? ;D ;D ;D
