Tzipporah is the daughter of Jethro, a high priest of the Midian tribe. She was captured by Hotep and Huy as a gift to the Egyptian princes, Moses and Ramases. When Tzipporah shows Ramases that she will not take her captivity well, she is given to Moses. Upon offering the "desert flower" to the royals, Tzipporah tries to escape but fails only to try again later that night. She is spotted by the youngest prince, Moses, who distracts the guards and allows her to leave. She stops at the house of two Hebrew slaves for water before disappearing into the desert with her camel.
When she returns to her people in the Midian tribe, she resumes caring for her younger sisters. One she sees them playing by the well and laughs when they say they are "trying to get the funny man out of the well." "The funny man", she discovers, is none other than the prince, Moses! The prince is welcomed into the tribe as an honored guest for protecting Tzipporah's younger sisters. Although their relationship gets off to a rocky start, Tzipporah teaches Moses about the Midian way of life and eventually marries him.
When Moses returns from a day of sheep hearding to say that God has chosen him to free the slaves of Egypt, Tzipporah is very skeptical and afraid. Moses is only one man after all, and the death of an Egyptian is on his hands despite his royal title. But in the end Tzipporah is loyal to her husband and goes with him to the Pharaoh to help him free his people.

Tzipporah sat on the rock, the warm sun beating down on them and the bleating of the flock of sheep around them. Moses was talking about his childhood, the pranks that they would pull on the high priests and the charriot races he would have with his brother through the streets of the city.
The Midian princess laughed, shoving the man playfully on the shoulder, showing that he should get back to work. As he walked off to manage the flock, Tzipporah thought back to the first time they had met. Moses had been a pompous brat prince who had made a fool of her. She would have been more than happy to let him drown in the well if her father hadn't gotten wind of how Moses had helped his younger daughters. But the man had changed quiet a bit from when he had first arrived in the tribe. His arrogance had disappeared, he was laughing and playing with the younger children, and was always ready to help when it was needed.
Smiling to herself, Tzipporah reached for Moses's crook which leaned on the rock behind her. Bringing it across her lap, she saw that he had attached a boquet of flowers to the wood. Her eyes glistened as she touched the petals and looked back over at Moses.
He really had come a long way.
