Team Esmeralda is finally ready for their summer trip, after Elietta had to "go potty" only 7 times before we left the house. The mood of the group is not very vacation friendly, as the rest of my gang are afraid Elietta's "potty trips" will cause us to miss the bus.



Esmeralda is pouting because Kovu was not here, but the bus driver who is taking us to Oslo is VERY nice and handsome, so I think Esmeralda's mood will get better eventually. At least enough for her to borrow my pocket mirror and my hairbrush. Right now, she is combing those raven locks until they shine like silk, and the bus driver is paying more attention to her than to the road....



Maleficent is furious because she doesn't like the smell of the aftershave on the pudgy guy two seats behind us. I had to be REALLY stern and tell her that barbecuing other tourists are STRICTLY for bidden. She glared at me for a couple seconds, before asking me if she could barbecue the locals instead.... *face-palms*



Luckily Tulio, Dmitri and Aslan are behaving so far, but Tulio says that it's just because there is no alcohol or pretty ladies about just yet. Except from us of course, he added VERY quickly after Marina held her sword against his neck....



Near Drammen we stop for a rest before we continue on our way to Oslo. Outside the Marche restaurant where we use the restrooms, there is a green plastic cow. I spend 35 minutes explaining to Elietta that she can NOT suckle milk from the cow like she do to Mommy.



We arrive Oslo at four o'clock in the afternoon, and stop to pick up passengers at the Gallery (Central bus stop in Oslo with connections to the Railway station). Here we are delayed when Elietta tries to escape by leaving the bus and try to take the train back home so she can be with Daddy. After a long chase, we catch her and carry her back to the bus. She is screaming so loud that we almost get arrested for child abuse. We have to explain to the police that we are NOT trying to kill Elietta, we are merely trying to take her out on a vacation. The policemen believe in us at last, but only after looking at Esmeralda's face for a while (a very LONG while...) They only stop after Elietta asks them why they make KISSY sounds to Mommy....



At five o'clock in the afternoon, we go aboard on "Pearl of Scandinavia", which will take us to Copenhagen, Denmark. I have to explain to Elietta that they do NOT have pearls here, or she would have talked Marina into going treasure hunting.



In the evening we have a lovely buffet dinner on the boat, with ONE free drink included. We meet our guide and our bus-driver in the restaurant. They seem friendly enough. Grandfather types, both of them. Elietta melted their hearts right away, and the bus driver has already promised her that she can sit on his lap and "drive the bus" when we go on the bus tomorrow. It takes me a while to explain to Dimitri that he is on vacation and that he doesn't HAVE to wash the dishes here....



After dinner I take my entire gang to the sun deck, and we enjoy the sunlight and the evening breeze. Maleficent is helpful getting us seats in the front of the boat. I just hope the crew doesn't start asking questions about the charred tourists we swept under the carpet......



After spending a lovely evening on deck, we go inside and go shopping on Deck 7. We're buying snacks and something to drink in the tax-free, since it's a LOT cheaper than buying drinks for Tulio and Dmitri in the bar. It is a NIGHTMARE to get Elietta away from the cuddly toys after the shopping. She refused to release them, but luckily Aslan PROMISED she can sleep in his mane tonight. God, I wish Kovu was here. Both Elietta and Esmeralda are easier to deal with when HE is around.



Tulio and Dmitri are not fond of shopping, so instead they are testing ALL the drinks in the bar. I have my suspicions that Tulio brought his loaded dice on the trip. I SAW his face expression when he noticed the casino on this ship....



I am so exhausted after the shopping that I go early to bed.... only to notice that Elietta has filled my bed with cuddly toys.... The rest of the night I spend clearing my bed of cuddly toys before I can FINALLY get one hour of sleep before I have to get up again.



I haven't seen much of Marina since we boarded the ship. She managed to charm the Captain so much that he allowed her to steer the ship ALL the way to Copenhagen. The fact that we are still floating should prove that everything is well.... *Yawn*

Even if I tried to go to bed early, there is a LOT of noise in the corridors tonight. The ship's crew have their hands full taking complains from furious tourists after someone tried to sing "Kalinka" in Spanish and "La Bamba" in Russian at the same time. I can't prove anything, but the singing stopped immediately after Tulio and Dmitri stumbled into my cabin at 4. 30 in the morning.



Tulio and Dmitri have emptied every bottle on the boat, including Elietta's baby bottles. Tulio claims he is so drunk at this time that everything tastes water. I can't wait to see his face when I tell him what he has REALLY been drinking....



I have a talk to Tulio and Dmitri to ask how they intend to pay for their night out. The Captain of the ship shows up when I try to lock them in the drunk tank, explaining to me that the bill is already paid. Dmitri has spoken to the Captain earlier, offering to do the dishes after dinner in return for free drinks in the bars. Tulio paid for HIS drinks with the money he won from the tourists with his loaded dice....



At 7 in the morning we have breakfast in the Restaurant "The 7 Seas". It is a lovely buffet meal. I have to stop Elietta from putting chocolate pudding in her dress pockets, and explain to her that even if she wants to share with Zephyr and Daddy, the dessert won't survive the journey in her pockets. She looked up at me with a guilty face expression, and then she emptied her pockets for things she was planning on sharing with her family and friends back home and drops it on the floor... *Face-palm*



At 10 in the morning we anchor up in Copenhagen, Denmark. It is lovely weather outside as we walk off our boat and go 200 meters before we find the parking lot where our bus is waiting for us. Tulio and Dmitri think it is the longest 200 meters they have walked in their lives. Marina told them to shut up, or she would make them walk the plank.



The luggage is already on the bus, so all we need to do when the bus driver opens the door, is to go inside and find a vacant seat. Easy? I thought so, but the moment I find a seat, a grumpy old lady gives me lip because I sit down on the seat where she and her husband had been sitting the day before. I had to stop Maleficent from turning them into crispy critters, and confiscate Esmeralda's wand until the grumpy lady shut up. Luckily I am offered a seat next to a sweet, elder lady further back in the bus, and I bring my gang over there. Aslan kept staring at the seat we had just left, as if he was trying to memorize something....



At 1330 we arrive Roedby, Denmark. We have time for a short stop at the toilets on the docks before we take the 13.45 ferry to Puttgarden, Germany. The trip takes 45 minutes, and I bring my gang to the sun deck to enjoy the sun. Elietta is braiding Aslan's mane, and Aslan tells Esmeralda that as long as she doesn't SHAVE him, he can live with it. Elietta gets a twinkle in her eyes, and starts shaving the head of a man that looks remarkably like Clayton. I hope he doesn't notice the difference before we are long gone....



At 1430 we arrive at Puttgarden, Germany. Surprisingly enough, my gang is already waiting for me inside the bus when we anchor up. On my way to my seat, I can't help but noticing that the two bus seats I was kicked out of earlier today has been shredded into pieces. The tear marks look remarkably like lion claws.... Waiiiiiit..... What are those blue fabric threads hanging from Aslan's claws?



We now have a few hours of driving ahead of us. Tulio and Dmitri are sleeping all the way, exhausted after their wild party last night. Elietta takes her regular afternoon nap in Aslan's mane, but she complains that Aslan's fur is not as soft as Daddy's. At 6 in the afternoon we arrive at a little place called Lehrte, just on the outside of Hannover in Germany.



Here we check in at Median Hotel, where I get room number 32. I am a bit nervous about bringing Aslan into my room, but he manage to disappear mysteriously, and only enters when the rest of my gang is gathered on my room. It is a HUGE room with a wonderfully LARGE bathroom. Of course my female characters occupy the bathroom for so long, doing their hair and freshen up their makeup, that my boys complain. If Aslan hadn't caused the electricity to run out, we would have been late for dinner. Maleficent is a bit pissed because Aslan took the light JUST when she was working with her eye liner.



Today's dinner is at the hotel restaurant, where we are served... surprise, surprise..... buffet dinner. We can have soup, fish, meat, vegetables, fruits and dessert. Esmeralda tries to make Elietta eat her veggies again. Elietta's temper goes off, and it ends in a food-fight that sends all the hotel guests screaming out of the restaurant. The cook is laying over his counter, sobbing deeply, when we finally leave. Note to self: Next time, MUST bring Kovu on holiday.....



After dinner we take a walk in the neighborhood, mostly to chill down Esmeralda and Elietta. After the walk we spend the rest of the evening in the outdoor restaurant/bar. I can't help but notice that Tulio and Dmitri drinks water in the bar today. Hopefully they have learned a lesson on the boat. I only hope it will last.

July 17 2009



Today I wake up early because Tulio starts laughing hysterically in his sleep. When I check on him, I find that he has Aslan resting in the foot-end of his bed, and Aslan is licking him under his feet while he is sleeping. I hear Tulio mumble something like "Oh, Querida, not NOW.... what if Boo comes in?" I will rather NOT know if Elisa is in the habit of licking Tulio's feet... Even I, the rp'er, can get TOO much information. When I later ask Aslan WHY he was licking Tulio's feet this morning, he blushes under his fur and told me he thought he was holding a juicy t-bone steak between his paws.



Even if we try to get up early, the girls occupies the bathroom so we almost come late for breakfast, and once again it is Aslan who has to make the electricity run out. This time however, the girls are prepared, and continues putting on their morning make up in the light from Maleficent's flames. It is not before the boys threaten to come into the bathroom with the camera the girls squeal and get ready so we can leave for breakfast.



At 7 in the morning we have breakfast in the restaurant of the hotel. Elietta is pissed off when she notices it is VEGGIES for breakfast. It would have been a new food-fight, if not a kind lady from the kitchen (probably one who had to clean up after yesterday's food-fight) comes running out of the kitchen, offering Elietta some fresh fruit instead. Esmeralda and I sigh with relief as our rebellious toddler calms down and starts munching happily on her fruit. Unfortunately we do not see where she throws away her banana peel. We only HEAR it, when the waitress comes into the restaurant, carrying a pile of 10 876 plates and glasses and slips on the banana peel before tripping over a chair.....



We leave the breakfast room in a certain hurry, hoping it will never be noticed who has tossed the banana peel that made the waitress fall and break all the new plates the cook bought in after yesterday's food fight. The cook is sobbing madly when we leave the hotel at 8.30, and there are some men in white coats that come and carry him away in one of those restraining jackets.... He has a funny face expression when the green car with the bars on the windows passes our bus....



We pass the time pleasantly at the bus, except from Elietta who is pestering us with questions like "Are we there yet?" and exclamations like "I GOTTA PEE!!!". Esmeralda is completely exhausted after taking care of Elietta and wants Kovu's rp'er to fax Kovu to our hotel. "NOW!!!" she adds, sending her rp'er an angry scowl.


Maleficent is trying to straighten the curls of the old lady sitting in front of us by using her magic spells. I am fascinated by the colored mushrooms that pops up in the lady's hair. I had no idea that fungus could look like that.....



Tulio and Dmitri tries to find out who can sing most Disney tunes, sounding like the original character. I had NO idea that Tulio can sing like Snow White.... Esmeralda whispers to me that he reached the high F because Elietta kicked him in the groin to make him stop singing...



At 1245 we stop for lunch near Nürnberg. The restaurant is formed like a bridge above the highway. This makes my gang from other centuries a bit nervous, only Dmitri seems to be fascinated by how the car has evolved since his time. I order something typical German: Schnitzel with chips and sauce. There is a salad to the schnitzel, and Elietta glares at it until Marina quickly removes it and promises the child that she won't have to eat it. Thank good for quick-thinking pirate queens... Unfortunately, the salad was not all Marina removed. I noticed that the cash-box of the restaurant was empty only seconds after Marina passed it. When confronted with it, Marina only shrugs and asks me what I expect, bringing a pirate queen with me on a holiday.



We arrive Munich at 6 in the evening, and go straight to our hotel Max Emanuel. My room number is 522, and we live on the 5th floor. There are only 2 elevators and a LOOOOONG line to get into one of them. Tulio, Dmitri and Aslan are sweet and help me to bring my luggage to the room, while I carry the sleeping Elietta. Esmeralda is determined to have Kovu's rp'er to fax Kovu to our hotel, so right now she is charming the male hotel manager to allow fully grown African lions as guests. He seems to be captivated by her charms, but then again, who isn't? ;D


At 7 in the evening it is dinner in the Italian restaurant belonging to the hotel. We have 3 dishes for dinner today. First pasta, then fish and at last a pudding of some sort for dessert. Not exactly a gourmet restaurant, but we are hungry and the food goes down somehow.



After dinner we go for a walk to get our digestion working after that *shudder* meal. Since we are going to stay here in Munich for a few days, it is good to know the surroundings of our hotel. We also need to find a mini-bank. I am not afraid of getting robbed. Who the heck would dare to rob a woman hanging out with a fully grown lion? Aslan follows me like a shadow, making me feel safe when we walk around to explore Munich of our own. Oh, and of course, having a flaming witch by your side also helps....



Near Wiener Platz we find a place where we sit down for an Italian ice cream. For those of you who haven't tried Italian ice cream: You don't know what you're missing. The strawberry ice cream TASTES strawberry, the lemon ice cream tastes like lemon, refreshing and fruity. And the chocolate ice cream.... You HAVE to try for yourself. Delicious. We found out two things during our stay here: Italians REALLY know how to make ice cream, and Italians LOOOVE toddlers.



Elietta manages to charm the male waiter, so we get bigger portions of ice cream than anyone else in the restaurant. Just when our ice cream is served, it starts pouring down, and it is thundering and lightening so we have to pick up our ice creams and run inside to eat it. It feels a bit cramped to sit with 1 rp'er, 6 human characters and a lion around a tiny table with four seats, but we manage to solve it somehow.



Elietta is happy when she can sit on top of Aslan's head. She manages to eat all her ice cream and half of mine, but she is so cute and charming that I let her. Dmitri looks a bit nervous about having Marina on his lap. She holds her gun against his back, and threatens to shoot if he tries anything. When Dmitri complains, Tulio sends him an angry scowl, asking if he rather want Maleficent on her lap. Maleficent grins evilly, and it is THEN I notice that she has scorched Tulio's pants.



The waiter at the ice cream bar is kind and calls a cab for us, since the thunderstorm doesn't seem to stop. Tulio's pants are STILL smoking as he goes out into the rain to wait for the cab. Maleficent teases him and says the restaurant is a non-smoking area, and Tulio replies by trying to drown her in the barrel of water standing on the outside of the ice cream bar.



The cab drive home costs 5.50 Euro including tip money. Not much when we share the amount. Most of my chars have pocket money, and I don't dare to ask them where they got it from. I am not sure I want to hear the answer. I hope the police won't follow after us home. When we come back to the hotel, my gang is worried about my limping, so Esmeralda nurse my sore feet before I go to bed.



Aslan asks me if I want him to lick my feet, but I say that I'd rather buy him a REAL t-bone steak tomorrow. I don't want to find out tomorrow that my feet are gone. The rest of the night is peaceful, except from Dmitri giggling in his sleep while Aslan is licking his feet....
