No warnings. A one-shot sort of story. Inspired by c-box goings-ons.
Riley watched as the little black-haired toddler skipped into the living room, a wide baby-like smile on her face as she noticed her babysitter for the night. How Riley had gotten himself into this, he wasn't even sure. But now he was there, so he might as well face it. He adjusted his glasses and stared at the girl before him. She looked up at him, quirking her head to the left, smile gone.
"Well then…" he began before clasping his hands together. "How does a nap sound?" Boo frowned and folded her arms over her small chest with a "humph", then shook her head. "What? Aren't you tired?"
The toddler shook her head before a wide grin split across her face and she began to spin in a circle, arms outstretched. The geek watched on, confused for a moment. Boo continued to spin for four minutes until she stopped, took a few wobbly steps forward as she giggled, and fell onto her little bum, a look of pure joy on her face.
Riley, wondering if this was normal toddler behavior, picked up Boo and carried her to the backyard. There he placed her on a patch of grass, walked inside, and closed the sliding glass door. From there he observed Boo spinning again until she plopped to the ground with a gigglefit. The process repeated itself twice–spin, fall down, get up, spin again.
Opening the door a crack, he called, "If you keep doing that, you're gonna end up laughing to death!"
It was Riley, what did he know about kids?
Boo got up, looked at Riley, and then screamed, "Gonna die!" before spinning even faster than before until she could barely walk straight. After that, she tried to walk over to the nerd, who was utterly freaked. Boo was young and did not know that there was actually a door. She giggled and took a few more steps forward and ran into the door, bounced off, looked over the glass, and started tapping on it. "Lemme in!"
Riley, with wide eyes, opened the door and allowed a rather dizzy and giggly toddler to walk through the door, veering left and right. Riley wondered for a moment if her parents had given her sugar before he'd arrived. Why else would a little kid act like this?
"Ready to calm down and watch a movie, kid?"
Boo simply giggled and nearly ran into a wall. He ran over and scooped the toddler up into his arms, making airplane sounds (he had to give it a shot) as he carried her to the couch and plopped down with her in his lap, the smaller laughing and enjoying herself. "Now…what to watch…"
