Persephone
Though she is one of the younger goddesses, Persephone is Aphrodite’s oldest and dearest friend! Aphrodite and Demeter were on good terms when the goddess first hid her daughter away from the Olympians and life on Mount Olympus, and as such Aphrodite was permitted to visit the young goddess of spring, especially since Demeter could not picture the goddess of love as a threat to her precious Sephy. The two became very close, sharing secrets and stories, discussing their hopes and dreams, and confiding in one another about life’s various problems. Persephone was one of the first (and few) who never displayed any sense of jealousy towards Aphrodite because of her beauty and liked her for her personality above anything else.
When Persephone first went missing, a frantic Aphrodite partook in the hunt for her friend. It was soon learned by a surprise appearance from Hades that he had abducted and married her. At first the news infuriated the goddess until he admitted to loving Persephone. As the pair declared their love for one another in front of the Gods on Mount Olympus, Aphrodite was consulted, along with her partner Cupid, to give the final verdict on these claims. Every God and Goddess believed Hades to be incapable of love, but Aphrodite’s persistent testing of him over the years convinced her that somewhere deep down he could love someone. As uncomfortable as the situation may be, their claims were declared to be true and at Persephone’s request, she herself performed a second marriage ceremony for them.
Over the many years that they’ve known each other, Aphrodite has continued to be a fiercely loyal friend towards Persephone. As much as Hades loathes the approach of spring, Aphrodite happily awaits it and before long the goddess’ can be found giggling and having a fabulous time once again. Aphrodite makes it a personal goal to try to ensure that Seph has a good time during the Spring and Summer months so that her separation from Hades will not be as hard on the goddess.

Macaria
Aphrodite loved little Maci from the very beginning! Though Macaria is one of the more… unique goddess’ who skirts her responsibilities in order to go spend more time with mortals, she remains a favourite of the love goddess who sees her inherited sarcasm as “cute” and “witty.” Aphrodite refers to herself as “Aunty Aph” when she’s around the Underworld princess, though Macaria has never used the words herself. It does not change the fact that she regards Maci as her niece and while she is protective of her, she believes that Persephone’s daughter should develop into her own immortal (even though her social life could use a bit of work)!
Melinoe[/b]
Like the rest of the Underworld clan, Aphrodite detests Melinoe. The girl’s wickedness and blood lust is more than enough to earn the love goddess’ scorn. Initially she made an effort to help bring Melinoe to the half light she came from, but the girl sank deeper into the depths of despair and solitude where her thirst for cruelty and murder grew. In the end, Aphrodite considered her to be helpless and shunned her like most of those who knows she exists.
Hercules[/b]
Hercules was the just the cutest little baby you ever did see, with his sun kissed hair and powder blue eyes! The joy his birth brought was something special indeed; it was the first time all the Olympians (except for Hades) had seemed truly happy with each other and looked like the perfect family. Everyone was crushed when the infant was kidnapped and though they were forced to watch Hercules grow up as a mortal, it did not stop some of the Gods from entering his life on occasion, especially when he asked for their help. Aphrodite was called upon by the youth several times and like most adolescents who fumbled their way through love issues during their teenage years, Aphrodite had to do a lot educating. Some of the things Hercules learned from her were that you should love someone for who they are and not what they look like, true love kisses do exist, and that love was extremely complicated.
Aphrodite has always believed in Hercules and had faith that he would one day discover the secret of being a true hero. He had already proven that he could hold his own in battle (she was overjoyed when he arrived to stop Hades and the Titans) but the true test lay with heart. Aphrodite watched with the others as the boy took a leap of love to save Megara’s soul and all eyes turned to Zeus as the proud father restored his son’s Godhood. She was not surprised when Hercules turned down the offer to rejoin the Gods, though she firmly believed he would have made a much better one than some that already existed, and lists Hercules and Meg as one of her favourite couples.[/center]
