Character name: Persephone
Test: Tell us everything you know about your character. Can you get in touch with the character you apply for? Why do you want to play this character?
Appearance: Persephone's skin is light pink - rose colored - and her aura (the glow surrounding her body) matches it. She's got purple eyes, and long eyelashes. Her face is somewhat rounded, especially at the cheek. The round-ness ends in a point at her chin. Her hair is blonde, a bright yellow, and reaches almost down to her knees. She's got two thick locks of bangs that she pushes behind her ears; her ears are hidden by other hair. On the right side of her head, her hair puffs up in sort of a strange wave. A bubble, almost. Her traditional outfit is a black chiton, fastened with a reddish orange pomegranate pin at her right shoulder.
Personality: Persephone is...well, NOT the goddess her mother hoped for her to be. Basically speaking, she was pretty much meant for Hades--she has an awfully nasty attitude, speaks with a lot of sarcasm, and turns people into plants when she gets mad. Luckily (for us mortals), over the years, she's softened a bit and isn't nearly as...violent as she used to be. Still, there are times when that Hades-like spark in her comes out. And then? Things (and people) are likely to end up spending the rest of their lives as flowers. She becomes very jealous when any woman looks at Hades the 'wrong' way, and also becomes infuriated when anyone calls her by her hated nickname, Sephy.
History:Persephone was born to Demeter and an unknown father (rumors say her father is Zeus--pure rumor and nothing more!) on Mt. Olympus a few thousand years ago. From the beginning, she was sort of a rebel, refusing to 'sit down and behave' like Demeter always insisted for her to do. Still, Persephone always followed her mother's rules (even if she broke the mold a little)--until, that is, Demeter informed her of her descision to wed her to Apollo. Shortly after recieving this information, Persephone met Hades.
A family reunion was what started it--they (Persephone and Hades) had both been forced to attend. Persephone; because of her mother, and Hades; because of a promise by the Fates that he would meet a girl and-- (they refused to tell him the last part). After he ended up going off on a rant on how he hated all the flowers everywhere and that whoever was in charge of making flowers was a brainless moron, Persephone (paying no heed to her mother's strict warning not to go near him) came up to him and told him off. Of course, he hadn't expected this--and with the fact that this was the girl he was supposed to meet and (and fall in love with--he did exactly that), he promptly vanished, and began scheming on ways to get her to him.
The way he came up with was quite creative. This way was cornering Persephone in a field and literally kidnapping her, whereas hades forced her into marriage--to him. She had been upset about marrying Apollo, but naturally was even more upset about marrying Hades, and began to despise him in exactly the same way her mother did.
Enter pro-Hades and anti-Hades. The two voices in her head appeared shortly after Hades saved her from falling in the Phlegtheon River (thanks to Pain and Panic, playing matchmaker) and right after he made her a necklace (diamond--and shaped like a skull). They were her voices of reason--pro-Hades obviously arguing for Hades' case and encoraging Persephone when she began to have feelings for him, and anti-Hades arguing against Hades ('Now’s your chance, Seph! Get outta here! Go! Run! Run!) and urging her to ignore her new feelings for her. Both pretty much disappeared--right after Persephone (after 5 months of living with Hades) admitted she loved Hades and right after she kissed him.
After a re-kidnapping (of Persephone, by Hecate and Menthe), the turning-into-a-mint-plant of a certain nymph (Menthe), the establishment of the Pomegranate Agreement, a marriage anullment, a remarriage (three seconds after the anullment--and to each other), and an alleged happily-ever-after, Persephone and Hades had a daughter--Macaria, exactly the same age as Hercules, which obviously caused problems (including problems between Hades and Persephone, including a near-divorce).
Later on, Zeus came to Persephone disguised as Hades and seduced her by the banks of the River Styx. She became pregnant with Melinoe from this encounter - and hated her daughter, completely dispised her. Years after Melinoe was born, Zeus came back as a snake and raped Persephone - her first son, Zagreus, was born from this. She hated her son, too, especially since Zeus refused to take care of him - or Melinoe, for thta matter.

"YAAAAAHHHH!
Wasn't too dignified, thought Persephone bitterly from her spot on the ground. Three seconds on Earth...and I trip over a root.
Spring wasn't until this Saturday, but Hades had insisted (translation: ordered) she went up to Earth to sort things out with Demeter before March twenty-first. It probably had something to do with the fact that he and her mother had gotten into a huge arguement the previous spring about something ridiculous.
It wasn't that she hated spring time--she was the goddess of spring, she loved spring. But being away from her husband for six months took away the glamour of it all. Even the flowers didn't help.
But, oh well.
Then she looked up and saw a smattering of people...Disney characters? she wondered, being not too familiar with them all, and only knowing about them from Hades. Deciding that they were friendly-ish, she stood up, dusted herself off, and strode towards them.
Who else do you already play? Hades
