I love this movie. It's one of my favorites. It's said that Ratigan was one of Vincent Price's most favorite roles, and watching the film, you can definitely see how much fun he had. The songs he sang were so fun and clever, and I don't know who's idea it was to have Ratigan have an identity crisis, but it was absolutely brilliant.
Barrie Ingham as Basil... that was perfect. He had such a unique voice, no one else in the world could have matched. The only thing this movie needed for Basil was his very one Irene Adler, but I suppose you can't have it all.
Olivia Flaversham is possibly the cutest sidekick Disney has ever dished out. I love how she bonds with Toby, who will listen to her over Basil.
This movie had a great cast of characters, and an amazing plot. If you haven't seen it, you should. It has yet to receive the special treatment of the special addition dvd's (and considering they are redoing Sleeping Beauty, Snow White, and eventually Beauty and the Beast again, I wonder if they plan to) but it is available on the standard dvds, and definitely worth the money.
