~~~Who I am Inside~~~
What is your character's history? Are they a hero, or a villain, a sidekick or guardian? What has happened to them in their lives to make them the way they are today?
”O n e *m i n u t e *I’ m *I n *c e n t r a l *P a r k *t h e n *I’ m *d o w n *o n *D e l a n c e y *s t r e e t . . .”
Born on the beat and growing up an orphan, Dodger spent his early years learning how to survive on the mean streets of New York City. Tapping into the cities rhythm, he taught himself how to ‘loot’ the trashcans, dumpsters and even pockets of the people around him. Perfecting the original puppy dog eye look and mastering the skills of the beggar, it wasn’t long before someone else took an interest in his talents. Fagin was a Bum, no money, no family and no proper home to return to after a hard day in the city aside from an old decaying Boat. So when he happened upon a rouged up Jack Russell Terrier Puppy at the Dock Yard, he took him in. Working as a team to make it through the days, they saw something of themselves reflected in each other, forming a strong bond and the two of them have been inseparable since. As time passed by new dogs found their way into ‘The Gang’ starting with the feisty Saluki Rita, then Einstein the dumb but lovable Great Dane, the hyperactive Chihuahua Tito and Frankie *ahem* Francis, an articulate and overdramatic British Bulldog. Together they raid the city for any valuable loot they can scavenge or Fetch, which they take back to Fagin who then takes it around to the city’s numerous Pawnshops just to make money.
Dodger has a soft spot for Rita, he likes her a lot and Tito is perhaps his closet friend in the gang. Einstein is like his lovable and annoying little brother and Frankie is like their uptight older brother. His bond with Fagin and the gang is incredibly strong and it’s not usual for them to allow anyone new into their inner circle especially if that someone is a Cat. So it was a surprise to them all when a ginger Kitten literally fell into their lives. One fine NY day whilst on the prowl for dinner, Dodger came across a kitten fighting with Old Louie before the big guy sent him reeling into a nearby trashcan. Seeing the advantage having this kid distract Louie would be whilst he busted a string of dogs from the cart, he strutted on over to little guy, easily talking him into it. Using the kitten as a distraction, he snatched the dogs and fled the scene, leaving no evidence that he’d been there at all behind.
Attempting to shake off the Kitty by taking a detour through a construction site, Dodger headed for home, unaware the kid was keeping close watch on which way he went. Arriving back at the boat and delivering the dogs…to the dogs, he broke into a fast paced story about how a monster with razor sharp claws, dripping fangs, nine lives all of them hungry, it came at him eyes burning, he knew his time had come suddenly…a crack in the beams above turned their attention from Dodger’s story to the noise and seconds later…Oliver fell into their lives. After an argument, a dog pile and a Harassed looking Fagin, Oliver won the gang’s respect by scratching up the nose of Sykes rotten Doberman Desoto, the brother to Sykes other Doberman Rascoe. Sykes, who’d been ruthlessly after Fagin since lending him some money, threw the poor bum off the pier bridge along with his final threat, Fagin has 3 days to pay back the money he’s borrowed, no more no less.
In the short time Dodger spent with Oliver, he began to see the kid as his own little brother, his friend and an important asset to the gang. After teaching him the ways of the ‘Street Patrol’ and almost loosing him to a little girl named Jenny Foxworth Dodger now loves the kid and will do anything to protect him as they try to pay off Sykes.
Describe your character's personality. What are their strengths and weaknesses, what are their passions? What qualities do they have that are good or bad?

Some would call this daaaawg a ladies man and on the most part it’s true he does indeed enjoy chekin out the ladies (a pastime he shares with Tito) but what hot-blooded male doesn’t? Dodger can be stubborn and moody when he wants to be, he can also be abrupt and he always tells it like it is which a lot of people/animals don’t like. He’s not afraid to use you if he thinks you can help him out, he’s a well practiced trickster, he can easily talk his way out of almost any situation, he definitely has an unmistakable attitude and great amount of pride and sometimes he can be far too confident for his own good but. Lucky for him, he has an equal measure of posatively's to outweigh the negs. Absetivley kids!
He’s protective, loyal (to the point where he’ll stand by you even if what your doing is wrong) and he will always stick up for anyone who’s weaker then him. He places Friendship and family (both mean the same thing to him) at the very top of the virtue list and he is easily hurt if one or both let him down. He’s not afraid to speak his mind and is a quick thinking, quick talking smooth criminal who is excellent with comebacks. He’s talkative and willing to share his ‘wisdom’ with anyone who can keep up with him, consider it a free lesson in the street savoir faire from New York’s coolest quadruped, and underneath his rough exterior he has a huge heart, even if he prefers to keep it hidden, after all nice guys just ain’t that cool right? He’s gotta keep up his bad puppy image somehow!

“T h i n k *y o u *c a n *h a n d l e *t h e *c h a m p?”
“Yo kid, I hate ta break it to yah, but yah goin’ the wrong way…” Shouting back down 7th Ave to the retreating back of his feline friend, Dodger rolled his eyes and turned around narrowly avoiding a rather ferocious looking stiletto heel. Shaking his head he let out an exasperated grumble and bounded off after Oliver, keeping a sharp eye out for any danger in the vicinity as her ran. “Sheesh dis kids gonna be deh death of me if dees streets don’t get me first”. Laughing slightly, his pink tongue hanging out of the side of his mouth (it was a hot day and fur plus hot days wasn’t all that great of a combo) he ducked between the legs of shrieking broad before coming to a halt beside Old Louie’s (unmanned) Hot dog cart.
“Jeez which way’d he go, stoopid Cat, if deh pound catches him Rita ain’t never gonna forgive me”. Catching sight of Tito across the packed road. Dodger waited for the Taxi cab in front of him to come to a halt before leaping up onto the bonnet, ignoring the shouts of rage form the driver and up onto the roof before crossing over to a VW Beetle and then a Fiesta, his red bandanna shifting with his movements as jumped before stopping and waiting for a clear landing space on the sidewalk, shouting as he went “Tito…YO! TITO man…ey…hold it…” Spying his chance he jumped from the roof of the fiesta, landing gracefully on the sidewalk before bounding up to his buddy who stood drooling in front of a shop window advertising Televisions on which an all female exercise video played.
Coming to a halt and panting, he yanked on the Chihuahua’s tail to get his attention. “Yo, Tito I lost deh kid ya gotta help me tail him, he headed towards deh corner of seventh an west forty second”.

Why this character? What draws you to them, what makes you want to play them? Do you have anything in common with them?
Almost everything about Dodger draws me to him weather it be his cheeky nature or his optimistic view on life. I love how loyal he is and how he’ll stick by anyone no matter what and he’ll never fail to protect you if you need protecting. He’s got an equal mix of positive and negative traits in him, giving him an even sort of balance and its this and so much more that makes me want to play him
