Why Do the Heroes Get Both?!

[Hades(H) and Persephone(P) are just sitting together watching Disney movies{yeah, yeah, I know, don’t give me that look—Seph made him do it}. Hades starts to fume after the fifteenth one. Persephone looks at him]

P~ What’s the matter?

H~…I hate these movies.

P~ Which movies?

H~ These. [holds up Disney movies]

P~ All of them?

H~ Every single one. I hate ‘em.

P~ …Er…why?

H~ It’s unfair to us.

P~ Us?...who’s ‘us’?

H~ Oh, you know…me…and the others! Us Villains! Frollo, Maleficent, Jafar, Ursula—

P~ Yeah, yeah, I know…but, ah…how come?

H[flaring up]~ Why do the heroes get both?!

P~ Both of what?!

H[sighs angrily]~ You know!

P~ I don’t know!

H~ The happy ending…and the kiss!

P[getting angry]~ I have no idea what you’re talking about, Hades, calm down!

H~ The happy ending is…well, the happy ending—everything wraps up nicely, the hero gets the girl, the villain is defeated, everything’s ok. The kiss is…well, the kiss!

P~ Ok. What’s the big deal?

H~ The heroes get both and the villains get…well, nothing. It’s not fair! We need attention too! Like, we’re not technically allowed to have a happy ending, unless we’re the hero in a movie…or a fanfic [glances at Persephone]. And for some reason, we can’t get the kiss either. But why can’t we reach a compromise?!

P~ Oh, Hades… [sighs]

H~ A friggin’ compromise is all I’m asking for…how about…oo! How about the heroes get the happy ending…and the villains get this kiss! Yeah! That’d work out fine!

[Persephone rolls eyes as her husband rants]

H~ See, see, it would work out fine…everyone would be happy…the heroes would technically get all the happy stuff, and they’d get the girl, and we’d get defeated, but we’d have something good before we got defeated…everybody’s happy…Maleficent kissing Prince Phillip…Ursula kissing Prince Eric…Scar kissing Nala…[snicker] Frollo kissing Esmeralda…ya know, he would’a loved that…

[Hades continues going on and on and on while Persephone sighs]

P~ Oy…

H~ Everyone would be happy and I wouldn’t be sitting here going on and on and on, asking why villains don’t get the kiss! We don’t get a thing! And all I wanna know is how come—

[Persephone kisses him]

[And after a while they break apart]

P~ Happy now, whiner?

H[O.O]~ …

P[smirks]~ …

H[O.O]~ …

P~ …

H~ Hell yes.
